On the 22nd September 2012 Andrews UK Limited will be hosting the inagural Book Show LIVE!

The Shout-Out:

"Based over three floors of The Hat Factory, in Luton, Bedfordshire, UK It’s going to be a day packed with useful info for authors, prospective authors and those who want to meet the people who write the books they love. Based over 3 floors and featuring an Erotica Zone that will house Victoria Blisse, Lucy Felthouse, Serena Yates, Nephylim, Kay JayBee, Janine Ashbless and others. You know it’s going to get seriously sexy. Though not too serious, there will be time to chat, network and have a good laugh, too.

Run by Andrews UK you’ll find that the day is specially tailored to make the most of every moment. Meet authors from all genres, agents, publishers and industry experts. The Book Show Live is a one stop shop

Go along to the literary agent panel to find out how to get signed with an agent and what this can do for your career. Featuring James Wells and Brie Burkeman. Find out what makes an Erotic Author tick at the Erotic Author panel. Ask questions to leading writers of the genre including all the erotica authors mentioned above!

Baffled by social media? Want to know how to use Facebook, Twitter and G+ to your advantage or need tips to use these tools to their maximum? Then check out the workshop by Daniel Doherty. Or maybe you want to know what publishers are looking for right now. Check out the publisher panel where you can ask your questions directly to the people who want to publish your books! You might want to try your hand at self publishing, there’s a panel for that too. And want to know how to market yourself online through blog tours, social media and more? Well then you can. Just join Lucy Felthouse and Victoria Blisse as they lead you through it step by step.

There’s also opportunity to find out about writing and illustrating Stories for Children and you’ll be able to ask questions to some of your favourite authors including celebrity biographer Nigel Goodall, Pete Cohen, The Wedding Fairy aka George Watts, Jenny Ainsile-Turner and Chris Cowlin.

And food! Not that it’s your biggest consideration but you get breakfast and lunch, a coffee break and afternoon tea all in with your ticket price."

Okay, yes, this will be a chance to network, to see and hear what the digital publishing industry is up to in the UK. It's also a chance to meet up with fellow authors, maybe discover a publisher who might be interested in my work, and even - perish the thought! - find out what, if anything, an agent can do for me, apart from costing me a chunk of my royalties.

I dithered about this for a while - the whole thing will cost me about £200, but in the end I decided to go for it. It could be a valuable exercise - and a fun one. Meeting fellow authors is always enjoyable.

Anyone else care to join me?
